We are supporters of the Ubuntu operating system, and have used it in a variety of ways over the last few years including:

Yes, you can get it for the cost of a domain from google and other places, however do you really know who has access to your email? What guarantees do they offer for their free accounts.
We provide Canadian based accounts, with access limited to a minimum number of technical staff. All information is protected by Canadian Privacy laws.
For Canadian companies we suggest getting a .ca domain and then getting the .com if you do business outside of Canada.
